PRE FALL IS STARTING TO FILTER IN STORE, SO TO GET AN IDEA OF THE DIRECTION FOR THE SEASON WE HAVE ORGANISED THE TOP TRENDS FROM STANDOUT COLLECTIONS.
The late 60’s through to the 1970’s are still the focus, with a more detailed look into an era full-to-the-brim of design inspiration. Wear-ability, similar to Resort, is a strong point for Pre fall 2015, with shapes that take no second thoughts to wear and will carry us through in a more timeless manner. Fur is huge, quite literally, as are the flares that made it into almost every collection. The blanket cape is back due to popular demand and the suit, it seems, is here to stay.
Let’s talk 70s!
The 1970’s get a closer look with designers pulling apart the era’s subcultures and their influences, into minute detail. Chloe takes the clearest approach with an entire collection in a time warp. Louis Vuitton and Stella McCartney take a different approach and the results are right on point.
Fur is everywhere and at it may just be at its most creative point, to date, we have ever seen. Its application, is incredible, to say the least. From coloured at Fendi, to fluffy at Chloe, to faux at Stella McCartney, there is a fur for everybody this season
We may have seen the flare come and go, but this season its here in every form. Balmain, the Row and Stella McCartney experiment with the flair from the mid-dancefloor disco kind, to a softer boot-cut or a slightly released straightleg
Twice as good
The suit, it seems, is here to stay. Whilst you can’t call something so traditional a trend per se, we have not seen the suit so strong since the 1980s era of power dressing. This season’s version is far more casual, softer in silhouette and made in luxurious textiles. It suits, pun intended, a more contemporary lifestyle of today.
