TOP TRENDS SS16

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE WORLD HAPPENS ON THE CATWALK. DESIGNERS REFLECTED NATURE INTO THEIR COLLECTIONS PAVING THE WAY TO OUR NEW WARDROBE ESSENTIALS.

Now that the SS16 season officially kicked off in stores, it is time to recapture the biggest trends of the season. Designers moved from African tribes to vast desert, to the ocean, using a divine mix of raw fabrics all over the catwalks to give every collection a fashion forward twist. After we analysed the Spring/Summer 2016 collections, here is our top trend selection for you to refresh your memories and to know what summer will hold in stores for us.

Digital Bohemia

The boho style has come undone. Clearly it will still be spotted but with the upcoming season, designers have never been more futuristic on runway’s most regular guest. From comic like optical illusions at Gucci to futuristic Aspen takes at Chanel, the boho style comes with a digital performance this season.

80s Throwback

It was acceptable in the 80s so why not bring it back. From huge shoulders to oversized denim, our favourite designers are celebrating an 80s revival. No matter if inspired by music or muses, this trend will hit the stores come spring.

Ocean Treasures

En route to the ocean! Beautiful under water elements floated on the surface of the catwalks using embroideries as well as print details, from water plants to aquatic creatures disposed all over the outfits. To go deeper in the siren world, we have seen several mesh dresses and sequin dresses representing fishing nets and fish scales.

Exterior Transparency

Who said we cannot layer up for Spring? This time it’s not what’s underneath. From Christian Dior to Prada to Rochas to Loewe, designers are covering their looks in sheer fabrics but clearly not to hide and cover. Giving a clear insight on the look underneath, this season is about a brand new take on translucent fabrics carried on top.

Luxurious Workout

From a simple collar to an entire look, most of the collections this season possess sporty details. Whether it is a comfortable shirt or loose tracksuit attire, designers discover a new approach towards sports. Are you ready to work out?

Female Menswear

Female menswear has been around. Only this season, the pinstripes are back! Not restrained for office only, we are pleased to steal men’s tailoring without losing all our femininity.

Gilded Vintage

A quite regal trend for spring will sneak its way into our wardrobes. Unexpected brocades and jacquards coated with gold and silver have never been more summerly. Appearing in delicate shades of light green, blue and burgundy the season’s new essentials come in flattering silhouettes.

Lingerie Line-Up

Delicate lingerie in black and white for the dominant colours, using essentially silk and lace, with a few vibrant variations for Haider Ackermann. Feminine and loose at Céline, seductive and puffy at Lanvin, as well as sexy and fitted for Dolce&Gabbana, the choice is ours!

Modern Tribe

Breathtaking Africa, beautiful cultures and tribes are represented in several collections this season. From Animal prints at Bottega Veneta and Esteban Cortazar, to tribe motifs for Alberta Ferretti, Burberry Prorsum and Valentino, with massive gold choker at Balmain, and delightful feathers at Givenchy and Proenza Schouler, among others, spring is going to be adventurous.
