The moment of change has come for the Gucci brand. Roman designer Alessandro Michele took over for Frida Giannini and surprised with a fresh, new and modern collection. For several years he has been working hand in hand with the former creative director and proved today that he was worth the choice to become the new creative mind behind the brand.
He rang in a new era with heavy menswear influences that were noticeable, especially when male models hit the runway. The synergy of fur coats on one side and translucent lace pieces on the other side made clear, that the designer officially enhanced contrasts, which was very refreshing.
There were also parallels to the recent pre-fall and spring summer collection that the designer may have shown to underline and strengthen the DNA of the brand. Applause for Alessandro Michele and his contemporary take on Gucci. Anew era begins!
