AT THE 22ND EDITION OF AMFAR’S CINEMA AGAINST AIDS EVENT, IMPORTANT MEMBERS OF BOTH THE FASHION AND FILM CROWD COME TOGETHER TO RAISE FUNDS FOR AIDS RESEARCH.
Fashion collaborates with charity. The star-studded amfAR event, at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, held a lot in store with a fashion show curated by long-term supporter Carine Roitfeld and participating board members such as Diane Kruger, who in Chanel, looked impressive as usual. Kendall Jenner put Calvin Klein into the spotlight and Sienna Miller looked particularly impeccable in her golden Ralph Lauren gown. The black-and-white themed show was pre-destined for success, with looks from Chanel to Louis Vuitton and names as desirable in-between. 60’s inspired looks were sent down the runway worn by forty top models, with appearances from Karlie Kloss, Izabel Goulart and Toni Garrn. “We did glamour and gold as a tribute for Liz Taylor; we did red and sexy for Marilyn Monroe; and now we do black and white, as it is the base of chicness,” Carine Roitfeld claimed. Followed by an auction, lucky bidders went home with their favourite dresses from the show and also had the chance to bid on tickets to attend the upcoming Golden Globe Awards. Amongst all the red carpet hysteria, this fabulous gala managed to be the most coveted ticket during this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Glamour for a good cause, works every time.
