Tote Transition

THIS SPRING/SUMMER SEASON DESIGNERS FROM EMANUEL UNGARO TO MOSCHINO BREATHE NEW LIFE INTO THE HUMBLE TOTE BAG. NO MATTER IF IT’S STRIPED, EMBELLISHED OR GEOMETRIC LIKE ISSEY MIYAKE'S BAO BAO, THIS CLASSIC CARRIER NEVER GOES OUT OF STYLE.

Through Fall/Winter fashion weeks, the movers and shakers were spotted touting the tote. From New York to Paris, the quintessential handbag became a statement in itself. With the Spring/Summer collections available in stores, we are now seeing them pop up in revived forms and in the freshest palette of colours. Emanuel Ungaro hits every trend with seventies style stripe patches in suede. Stella McCartney draws attention with crazy motif applications and Kenzo surprises with delicate embossed logo bags. Moschino, in the meantime, wows with a tote that wouldn’t be out of place floating in a Beverly Hills pool. Whatever the genre, totes are back to being essential toppers for an up-to-the-minute look.
