Oh so sheer

THE TRANSPARENCY TREND SETS A BARE STATEMENT FOR SUMMER. AFTER YEARS OF COME AND GO, THIS SEASON SEVERAL DESIGNERS REVEALED “SEE-THROUGH” - DELICATE PIECES SO BEAUTIFUL AND PURE THAT LININGS ARE ABSOLUTELY REDUNDANT.

Yves Saint Laurent’s transparent blouse from 1962 has come undone. From the most scandalous piece in the fashion world to outrageous reinventions by Alexander McQueen in the early 2000s to no longer shocking, nearly naked dresses, transparency definitely has its history on the catwalk. While Akris prefers the covered-up sporty version, Sonia Rykiel sets bold statements and reveals more skin than ever. Stella McCartney’s Asian-inspired summer dress tenderly floats around the torso and delicately exposes parts of it. At Balmain transparent chiffon is used to fill the empty space of a long dress slit. Valentino’s romantic imprinted version proofs that baring skin doesn’t have to be suggestive. Either used as an accent, as peekaboo fabric lengths or totally revealing, today you will not stir up the fashion crowd. This trophy went to Yves Saint Laurent years ago. However, during hot summer nights you will be thankful for wearing just a beautiful breeze of clothing.
