Soft Touch

FORGET ABOUT NEON-COLOURED AND LOUD, VIBRANT COLOURS. THIS SUMMER MOST DESIGNERS PREFER A TENDER TONE. CREAMY YELLOW, DELICATE PINK OR GENTLE MAUVE – PASTEL SHADES ARE EXTREMELY STRONG!

Pastel tones are said to be extremely feminine and sensitive. Their high amount of white lets them appear soft, mild and peaceful. This elegant restraint makes them the perfect match to intense shades and black or white, because it emphasizes heavier colours. Nevertheless most of the runways show pastel pure or in combination with other tints of that kind.
At Chloé flirty silk dresses go with the flow, Valentino creates elfish looks out of beautiful cotton lace and Givenchy adds some sexiness with a belly deep cleavage and overknee boots. Stella McCartney shows that opposites attract with boyish army jumpsuits in soft pastel tones. The same applies to Balenciaga, where opacity mingles with precise cuts and severity.
If you prefer a little bit of edginess, give pastels a twist with unexpected sexiness, masculine pieces or tailored cuts. In other respects let your inner nymph out with flowy valances, maxi gowns and beautiful embroidery.
