PIECE BY PIECE

FASHION REVELS IN VINTAGE DREAMS. INSPIRED BY CRAFTMANSHIP, THE LOVE FOR PATCHWORK LEASES THIS FALL ANEW. EXQUISITE AND EXOTIC FABRICS ARE SPLICED AND DICED TO MAKE A PERFECT MATCH.

Far beyond grandmother’s retro living room designers from Chloé to Etro reinvent the season’s trend and make us already want to embrace the forthcoming season. Piece by piece, they are putting together the most beautiful wardrobe staples. Etro finds vintage inspired ethno fabrics to mix and match, as does Acne Studios with rather raw and modern textures. Gianvito Rossi keeps it polished by setting subtle colour blocking accents whereas Burberry Prorsum is eager to excite the eye with exquisite patterns and exotic prints. Patchwork has come a long way from a handwork technique to a trend that creates individual styles rather than repeating the idea to create something new out of the old. Here are items that show you how to work in patchwork.
