JUST AS JEWELLERY DESIGNER FERNANDO JORGE CREATES VIA THE ENERGY OF HIS TRAVELING ROUTES, SO DOES THE WEARER DISCOVER A MOVEMENT OF BRAZILIAN INFLUENCE THAT RUNS THROUGH HIS COVETED GEMS.
There is a fluid curve that releases Fernando Jorge’s Stream jewellery collection into surrealist-like jeweled drips. Using his home ground of Brazil as one thread to bring the culture’s warmth and vibrancy to life, themes of attraction and desire are cast in his pieces. Movement seeps through unexpected shapes and like his Stream Cuff, a polished rose gold swirl wraps the wrist with white champagne diamonds. Shortly after leaving his native Sao Paulo to study at Central Saint Martins in London, the designer took the departure point to explore the movement of liquid.
From the Stream Double Earrings that evolved, fluid lines of snake chain evoke the flexibility and tension that cohesively fuse rose gold with round, pear-shaped, square, marquise-shaped and baguette brown diamonds. London’s melting pot of culture and diversity has been an equally inspiring jolt for him and the Fusion Collection tapped into the youth and vibrancy of the city. Arrows and crosses scatter the punk rock iconography and the Fusion Cross Earrings intricately fuse white round diamonds and trillion-cut clear topaz to exude the spirit with a jagged geometry. From his London base, the designer works with craftsmen in Brazil to bring his vision into full view. Evidently in tune with his environment, his multi-metropolitan homes let Fernando Jorge’s jeweled language flow.
