CALLING THE WILD

PICKING OUT ONE OF THEIR BEST SELLING SILK SCARF SUBJECTS FOR THEIR SPRING SUMMER 2016 CAMPAIGN, HERMÈS PRESENTS TWO CAPTIVATING WILDCAT MOTIFS FEATURING A PAIR OF LOUNGING LEOPARDS.

Cast in either an inky indigo or an infrared monotone, the images have an historic and anthropological quality to them. Going hand in hand with the campaign theme of “Grandeur Nature,” photographer Yoshiko Ueda went in search of the cat’s natural habitat, finding this in the bleached out grasslands of the Savannah.

Model Sophia Ahrens lends the images just the right touch of romanticism, evoking notions of adventure and discovery as the tall dry grass of the steppe caresses her figure. Both a part of the wild and jet distinctly other, the photographs seem to highlight the daring and unafraid spirit of this gentle adventuress. With Hermès successfully appealing to our inner free spirit, the campaign showcases all that we have come to love about the fashion house: elegance, time honoured tradition and cutting edge graphics.
