TOD’S BAND ALESSANDRA FACCHINETTI APPOINTS FIFTEEN GIRLS TO START THE TOD’S BAND; A COLLECTION OF INSPIRING FACES WHO CREATE A BEAUTIFULLY COMPOSED SOUNDWAVE WORTH LISTENING.
From the very beginning, music and fashion have had an ongoing love affair, inspiring and nourishing one another for decades and Tod’s flared it all up again for Spring/Summer 2016 with a band composed out of young creative, or to be more precise: “Fifteen strong personalities who don’t follow the rules because they make their own, which is why they have such a following.” Amongst them are Langley Fox Hemingway, Lizzy Jagger, Giulia and Camilla Venturini, Julia Restoin Roitfeld as well as Sonia Sieff, who also photographed Tod’s real world individualists, whose stories are told through the fashion lense, while some of them walked in the show, some of them sat front row. Inspired by this group of people, Facchinetti wrote the lyrics for fashion’s biggest hit.
Creating a biker sound, Tod’s introduces us to guitar-themed bold cuts, personalised patchworks and ultra lightweight leathers, also starring the iconic Gommino loafers and the new wave bag. A tender rockabilly tune came to the fore with a focus on paperbag waists and a laid back elegance, that groupies will crave come summer. And the theme continued; interchangeable shoulder straps reminded of guitars and set to be the next big hit. As we can tell now, when Italian style and tradition interlaces with music, the story goes beyond being an heritage accessory house, the song is going straight to the toplist.
