Saint Laurent turns left again

THE HOUSE OF YVES SAINT LAURENT ANNOUNCED TO MOVE ITS HEADQUARTERS TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SEINE. IT IS NOT THE FIRST TIME AT RIVE GAUCHE, THE SOUTHERN AREA OF CENTRAL PARIS, PLAYS A MAJOR ROLE IN THE HISTORY OF THE BRAND.

The ‘Visionnaire’ Yves Saint Laurent created Prêt-à-porter to offer something other than the often unattainable Haute Couture to a location known for artists and philosophers not designer boutiques. The name of the line reflected its home: Rive Gauche. Half a century later the headquarters will pay homage to its creator with a move back to La Rive Gauche, to the historical building Panthémont Cistercian Abbey. Following its atelier over the Seine after subsequent renovations due to be completed in 2018 both the atelier and headquarters will be united on the left side.
A new revolution to add to the pages of Yves Saint Laurent history brings Hedi Slimane‘s Californian edge home to a heritage synonymous with Parisian style. Long live Saint Laurent.
