A knight to be remembered

THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF PIERRE HARDY BEING NAMED AS CHEVALIER DE LA LÉGION WAS WITH THE SPARKLING ESTEEM ONLY MATCHED TO AN AWARD THIS PRESTIGIOUS.

For a man with a list of achievements as staggeringly long as Hardy’s, it should come as no surprise. Designing progressively modern-minded accessories for Dior, Balenciaga, and Hermès, as well as his own name-sake line are just a few of his notable achievements. His reaction to the news was anything but presumptuous, his comments much like his lovable reputation, “It’s a complete surprise, I don’t even know whom to thank. It’s amazing how this seems to have touched people everywhere. People are very sensitive to that honor, its heartwarming”. With previous award winners such as Hubert de Givenchy, Valentino Garavani and Karl Lagerfeld, it appears Pierre Hardy has joined the ranks of fashion’s most honored citizens. We agree it is heartwarming news, worthy of commemorating with a spot of shoe shopping.
