Dior's New Gal

OPPOSITES ATTRACT. RECENT PROOF FOR THIS SAYING IS THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE NEW FACE FOR DIOR’S SECRET GARDEN CAMPAIGN. RIHANNA IS GOING TO BE THE FIRST BLACK WOMAN IN THE HOUSE’S HISTORY. BY CHOOSING BADGALRIRI THE BRAND REFERS TO A LESS CONSERVATIVE AND MULTICULTURAL VISION FOR THE FUTURE OF DIOR.

Quite recently, Rihanna and Dior had great news to announce. The American pop idol confirmed to be the new face for Dior’s Secret Garden campaign that will be shot by Steven Klein in the Versaille Palace. As the first black woman to represent the house in its 70 years history, Rihanna marks the beginning of a new era.
After collaborating with Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron and Jennifer Lawrence, the prestigious French fashion house decided to turn towards a more multicultural attitude. The ongoing debates about racism don’t spare the world of fashion and after being designated for the lack of coloured women on the runways it seems that Dior is finally willing to take part in the world’s future vision – and for now this vision is strong, sexy, beautiful and black.
