PARIS DAY 1

AFTER LOTS OF BOLD AND EXCITING OUTINGS IN MILAN, WE FIND OURSELVES IN FRANCE FOR THE FIRST DAY OF PARIS FASHION WEEK, SWAPING THE QUIRKY FOR THE CLASSY AND THE BOLD FOR THE TIMELESSLY CHIC. WELL, THIS IS WHAT WE ASSOCIATE WITH PARISIAN FASHION, BUT TAKING A CLOSER LOOK, WE SAW EVERYTHING BUT THIS.

Each X Other introduced an earthy colour palette spotlighting turtleneck sweaters and apron dresses. Provoking statements were printed on shirts and were a bit too quiet for what they wanted to shout out. The day proceeded with Anthony Vaccarello’s elaborately completed femininity. Black was dominant and skimmed the models bodies, except for the legs, even though these were more covered than usual. Jacquemus’ line-ups always have a touch of naïve art meets fashion. His quirky outings provide a somewhat childish way of approaching design that works in a really great way. Who else can send a sliced suit tied back together down the runway? Paris’ fashion has moved a lot.
