NEW YORK DAY 4

THE FOURTH DAY HAS BRIGHTENED OUR WEEK WITH CHEERFUL COLLECTIONS, FROM DAYWEAR AT VICTORIA BECKHAM TO EVENINGWEAR AT PRABAL GURUNG AND WITH LOVE POWER ON VALENTINE’S DAY FOR DIANE VON FURSTENBERG.

Victoria Beckham returned to the corset for her Fall 16 collection, taking inspirations from her own wardrobe. The Spice created voluminous skirts and dresses, and played with cutouts and layering. The collection is also very graphic and includes stripes and check patterns. Diane Von Furstenberg invited us to a joyful presentation in her own studio in the Meatpacking district. The inspiration; the movement of dancing, was perfectly shown by the dancing models. A way to demonstrate how each garment moves and empowers the woman’s body. From dresses to jumpsuits, the collection offers a nice variety of print and fabric in vibrant colours. Prabal Gurung presented a casual collection using delightful fabrics from Nepalese cashmere, to fox fur to pearls and feathers. The designer played with asymmetric cuts on fluid dresses and skirts for his Fall/Winter 2016 collection, with rows of buttons partially detached.
