DAY THREE HAS SEEN QUITE A LOT IN DETAILING. COLOURFUL ICONS HAVE JUMPED INTO FALL/WINTER 2016 COLLECTIONS. WITH A COMEBACK ON THE RUNWAY FOR MULBERRY AFTER TWO YEARS, AND A DREAM BECOMING REALITY FOR ALEXANDER MCQUEEN, LONDON FASHION WEEK HAS RESERVED BEAUTIFUL SURPRISES.

As one of the first designers to master the emoticon trend, Anya Hindmarch always surprises us with new ideas. For her Fall/Winter 2016 collection, she presented a line with video game icons such as Pac-Man and Space Invaders, among others, applied on coats, bags and shoes. Cowboys meet princesses is the idea behind Mary Katrantzou’s Fall/Winter 2016 collection. The collection featured cowboy elements such as stars, scarves and leather detailing and Mary Katrantzou reinterpreted them to create a very feminine and colourful line. While Vivienne Westwood played mix and match with layering, Mulberry made a comeback on the runway with new creative director Johnny Coca. After two years of MIA, models walked down the runway translating the House’s British heritage with punkish details. Not an easy task for the new clothing designer. Sarah Burton also considered the icons, starting with black coats and dresses with bright butterfly, time watch appliqué and hand-painted flowers, it was a dream becoming reality at Alexander McQueen. The collection then continued with nude and soft rose colours, alongside gentle lace and delicate knit dresses, and exquisite snug satin coats.
