LONDON DAY 1

LONDON FASHION WEEK HAS STARTED, AND WE HAVE SPOTTED MINIMALIST AND ABSTRACT COMBINATIONS AT J. JS LEE AND EUDON CHOI FOR DAY ONE AND FINISHING WITH A BOLD COLLECTION AT CHARLOTTE OLYMPIA.

For her Fall/Winter 16 collection, J. JS Lee created a new take on simplified tailoring with modern details applied. Essentially monochrome or bicolour, the collection features loose yet feminine apparels. Jackie Lee also played with layering, something we have seen quite a lot in the past week, with dresses and skirts over trousers. The South Korean designer added architectural references and perhaps subtle Asian cultural attribute along. For his Fall/Winter 2016 collection, Eudon Choi designed a line that would represent both the aesthetics of artist Saloua Raouda Choucair and painter Helen Frankenthaler. Very abstract, the collection features sharp tailoring and colour-block pattern on dresses and inside coats, along with delicate crepe dresses. And for her runway debut, shoe designer Charlotte Olympia presented an all-black classic collection with an extensive range of shoes and purses. From platforms to pumps to over-the-knee boots, the collection reflected Charlotte Olympia’s signature, bold and sexy, exposing glitter, velvet and leopard prints among others.
