CREATIVE DECISIONS

FRANCISCO COSTA AND ITALO ZUCCHELLI HAVE ANNOUNCED THEIR IMMINENT DEPARTURE FROM CALVIN KLEIN, OPENING UP THE POSITION OF CREATIVE DIRECTOR AT THE LABEL.

A few hours ago it was announced that Calvin Klein Collection’s creative directors Francisco Costa and Italo Zucchelli will be leaving their positions as creative heads at the house. As a result, the men’s and women’s runway shows will not take place, although presentations will be held to report to press and sales. The inhouse design team will now take creative responsibility and draw up the collections and presentations, something we have also seen previously at Lanvin and Dior.

In a push to unify the house’s sub-brands and start into a brand new direction, the next creative head will have complete creative control over ck Calvin Klein, Calvin Klein Jeans and Calvin Klein Collection. Rumours have it that Raf Simons might be next to pick up the reigns at Calvin Klein, having left Dior in October 2015. His minimalist and elegant take on womenswear has already been inspirational during his time at Dior and we would love to see him outside menswear again.
