A NEW CHAPTER

THIS NEW YEAR PROMISES TO BE HECTIC! MANY PERSONALITIES IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY HAVE INSPIRED US AND WILL CONTINUE TO INSPIRE US FOR 2016. BUT WHO WILL BE THE ONES RULING THIS YEAR? 2015 WAS FULL OF MOVEMENT AND SURPRISES BUT IT SEEMS THAT 2016 WILL BE EVEN MORE. LET’S SEE WHAT AWAITS US.

Brand New at LVMH

What a nice way to start the year for the fine jewellery label Repossi. The LVMH Group, world leader in high end products, is taking the ravishing label under its wing and will assure a future growth without losing its heritage market niche.

Around The World

A first for Givenchy! The French label moved from Paris to New York for its SS16 collection but Riccardo Tisci isn’t the only one who needs a change of destination. The Olsen twins’ award winning label The Row moved from New York to Paris. Exciting news for Tom Ford! His FW16 collection will be presented during New York Fashion Week. Nevertheless, to once again stay away from traditional, the collection will be shown as a small and private presentation only. For its Cruise 17 collection, Alessandro Michele decided to relocate to London, whereas Karl Lagerfeld is taking us to Cuba for Chanel's Cruise collection. And a back to the start for Alexander McQueen since the brand will be showing at the London Fashion Week exclusively for the Fall16 collection. Get your passport ready!

New Designers

After seven years at Emilio Pucci, Peter Dundas returns to Roberto Cavalli, which leads Emilio Pucci in the hands of Massimo Giorgetti. The Public School designer duo took the reins at DKNY while Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski went from The Row to Hermès. Anthony Vaccarello was appointed permanent creative director of Versus Versace and Alessandro Michele, still unknown to the scene when Gucci promoted him, brought back the brand into the top ranks. Demna Gvasalia is the new name under Balenciaga. New designers are coming up but not one might be up to the task after Raf Simons’ departure from Dior. The French House decided that the in-house team would be designing the upcoming collections.

Labels On The Rise

Just seven years after launching his own label J.W. Anderson, Jonathan William Anderson is unstoppable not to mention, he is the first in history who won two consecutive awards at the BFA’s 2015. Rosie Assoulin with her couture volumes and her rich fabrics is finally taking off, while Simone Rochas continues to impress us with her delicate and innovative collections. Since Jonathan Anderson has taken the reins at Loewe, the brand has had an exiting new direction that brought the label to the top. Spotted everywhere during fashion week, and on celebrities, the brand Mira Mikati is the new playful trend to watch!

Top Runway Faces

Kendall Jenner and the rising star Gigi Hadid are part of the Angel’s family! Will this bring the BFF back to the runway? The top faces spotted along all the prestigious brand for the past seasons, that we for sure don’t want to miss include Lineisy Montero, Harleth Kuusik, Alexandra Elizabeth Ljadov, Maartje Verhoef, Ine Neefs, and Mica Arganaraz. We cannot wait to see if fresh new talents will tag along!

A New Era

Another great surprise was to see Rihanna as the new face of Dior’s Secret Garden campaign and as the first black woman in the House’s 70 years history. A step forward we were all thrilled to hear for the fashion industry.
