JACQUARD IS IN ITS ELEMENT THIS SEASON AND BEYOND THE CLOTHES, THE REGAL TAPESTRY HAS WORKED ITS WAY DOWN TO THE SHOES FOR DRIES VAN NOTEN, STELLA MCCARTNEY AND ETRO FALL/WINTER 2015 RUNWAY.
Applied as a heeled creation, Jacquard’s old world regal breadth grants a deco and contra detail that surprises the eye past the hemline. Dries Van Noten’s baroness of bohemia is no stranger to jacquard. This fall/winter collection saw an outing of the royal loom that brought the golden threads down to the sole. Embellished with a fringe, his strapped heels’ open toe inaugurates this season’s spanning gilded bohemia.
Easy throughout, Stella McCartney’s Fall/Winter 2015 story focused in on a soft knit simplicity which gave jacquard a perfect ankle boot foray. Covered with warm hues, the crushed velvet ombré begins the shoe’s vantage point right at the heel. Worn with a perfect fall cuff, cropped cuff or godet hem, the boot grants an ounce of noble to lines akin to Stella McCartney’s simply sleek.
Veronica Etro did not hold back the full reign of gold, copper and bronze that extended lush jacquard down to her shoes. In celebrating this season’s full array of patterns and furs, one thing that a this season’s wanderer doesn’t hold back from is too much of a good thing. The beauty in this mix prints a jacquard pattern right on the shoe’s toe, partnered with a snakeskin patchwork, there is a freedom in today’s ways about old world heritage that carries the modern day gypsy to her jet.
