TECHNICOLOUR FLAMES PULSE AN ALL NIGHT ECCENTRICITY THROUGH ACNE’S SPRING/SUMMER 2016 LINE-UP WITH SONIC WAVES.
Jonny Johansson has let the music direct his step and there’s a culture that surrounds this beat. Acne’s DIY zone plays up the electric jolts from 80’s and 90’s rave days. The girls do it best with their makeshift senses bringing an anything goes headspace into the mix. Miniskirts are slashed short and assembled together with sneaker laces in their own strung out way. Raw shoulder seams to get roughened up while chrome shards scatter over the oversized jackets to make out electric guitar shapes.
Crushed velvet guitar case linings gets transformed into mini shift dresses, just like the bass beat that seeps from the inside out. More velvet gathers at the ankle with layer-on-layer of cardboard to hold up the platform sandals. Plexiglas razor shades rally tailoring with boxy cut blazers, two-toned lapels and sparkly patchwork pockets. Johansson’s vision for the season is music plus self expression and movement has them in non-restricting halter dresses and striped sock sneakers, a flat sole in which the girls can run. Circular CD prints cover dresses in optics that make scratches levitate. Printed flames take it further, shredding sweaters, while knit webbing lines “do-it-yourself” up in Acne’s strobe lights.
